Make something from nothing!

Project 2019

The objective of this project was to construct an economically viable yet welcoming and comfortable bar, within a budget of 12000€. The available space for the bar and kitchen was 32m2 and 23m2 respectively, and the challenge was to accommodate a sufficient number of seats for approximately 30 patrons, as well as tables for accommodating parties.

Finished project

Project 2019

The town selected for the project is Naujoji Akmenė and the location of the bar is in the heart of the town. The space, while small, required minimal renovations as it previously functioned as a shop and prior to that, a bakery. The kitchen, however, required more creativity as it will be constructed in a garage that is adjacent to the main building. The garage was originally two separate units that were joined together to form the current shop. To connect the kitchen, it was necessary to either cut out doors or create a hole in the wall between the two spaces.

Conducting a survey and taking accurate measurements

Project 2019

Conducting a survey and obtaining accurate measurements is a crucial step in the project planning process. Accurate measurements not only aid in the efficient use of building materials, but they also facilitate the design process. By utilizing CAD software such as SketchUp, detailed 3D measurements of square footage, ceiling height and other important architectural features were taken. Although not initially included in the plans due to budget constraints, the potential for an outdoor garden area is being considered for future development. In addition to architectural design considerations, the layout and design of the pub was also limited by the necessity to meet hygiene regulations.
